This procedure applies to the Head of Operations Principles & Standards team for the development and cascade of Operational Development Day briefing material.

This procedure covers the briefing of briefing of all operations employees who are briefed within a designated cycle rather than by the management briefing cascade process.

The process applies to the managers of operations employees, including:

1. Signallers;

2. Crossing Keepers;

3. Movable / Swing Bridge Operators;

4. Mobile Operations Managers;

5. Route Operations Controllers;

6. Electrical Control Operators; and

7. Other frontline Operational Managers and operations employees who are briefed within the designated cycle.

PURPOSE

This procedure provides a systematic and structured approach to the briefing and discussion of safety issues for all identified staff.

The purpose of the Operations Development Day is to:

a) Facilitate learning and development of staff;

b) Obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for effective job performance; and

c) Provide employees with rule and regulation updates.
