scope:
PURPOSE.
This Instruction:
a. Reissues DoD Directive 6420.1 (Reference (a)) as a DoD Instruction in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5143.01 (Reference (b));
b. Re-establishes the Armed Forces Medical Intelligence Center as the NCMI for the conduct of medical intelligence within the Department of Defense, pursuant to Executive Order 12333 (Reference (c)); Chapter 44, Section 3001 of Title 50, United States Code, also known as "The National Security Act of 1947, as amended" (Reference (d)); and DoD Directive 5240.01 (Reference (e)).
