scope:

This Specification applies to waterproofing systems to be used for waterproofing all new underline bridge decks and for the maintenance and repair or replacement of waterproofing systems to existing underline bridge decks.

This Specification does not apply to waterproofing systems for road bridges and underline bridges constructed by thrust boring or tunnel techniques when external faces are inaccessible for the application of waterproofing, or to other parts of underline bridges such as below ground surfaces and abutments.

PURPOSE

This Specification details the performance criteria for waterproofing systems proposed to be used on Railtrack's underline bridge decks and provides recommendations for tests to be carried out to prove compliance with the performance requirements.
