scope:

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the requirements for textile glass chopped strand mats ²⁾ (hereafter referred to as the chopped mats) made from alkali- free glass (hereafter referred to as E-glass) mainly used for reinforcement of plastic and those made from alkali-resistant glass ¹⁾ (hereafter referred to as AR-glass) used for reinforcement of cement.

Notes ¹⁾ Alkali-resistant glass refers to glass having a composition containing not less than 16 % zirconia.

²⁾ A chopped strand mat refers to E-glass or AR-glass strand cut into about 50 mm, randomly and evenly stacked, and formed into a mat using a binding agent.
