|ICS Code (Automatic controls for household use):||97.120|
The object of this Part 1 Standard is to specify general electrical safety requirements for certain products.
The requirements of this Standard apply to a specific end-use product when it is explicitly referred to by that product standard. Each individual product standard may supplement, modify, or omit a general rule in the Part 1 Standard to provide the relevant requirements for each type of product.
This Standard applies to the safety of such equipment which is designed and constructed for installation and use in accordance with CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), Part I.
Note 1A: Manufacturers designing products for use in Canada can find a helpful summary of the equipment-related requirements of the CEC, Part I, in CSA SPE-2000.
[In Notes 2 and 3, replace "IEC 61810-1" and "the IEC 61810 series of standards" with "CSA C22.2 No. 14"]
