Inclusions

The areas covered in the scope of this PAS are:

(a) Electrically driven packaged heat pump systems with a heating capacity greater than 10 kW delivering a temperature between 50°C and 160°C;

(b) Issues of site integration (including connectivity, advanced controls, thermal storage and heating distribution, provision of cooling, electrical supply, and performance monitoring);

(c) The range of available refrigerants;

(d) WorkSafe New Zealand safety requirements;

(e) New installations and retrofit applications.

Exclusions

The areas excluded from the scope of this PAS are:

(a) Standard HVAC systems;

(b) Installation advice;

(c) Heat-driven heat pumps (such as absorption refrigeration);

(d) Small-scale single-phase heat pumps (such as residential units and systems).
