Organization: NR
Publication Date: 3 April 2021
Status: active
Page Count: 9
scope:

This procedure applies to competent individuals operating signalling equipment and the management of these individuals. This includes those for whom signalling is a core duty and those for whom it is not

NOTE: Non-signallersand those acting in the capacity of contingent signallers. This does not apply to contingent signallers.

This procedure applies to Power Signal Box (PSB), Signalling Control Centres, Rail Operating Centres, IECCs or other signaling location that has either multiple workstations or a requirement for more than one signaller.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to permit a competent signaller to work two signalling panels or workstations during a scenario resulting in a severe reduction of signalling staff.

It mitigates the risks for the dual operation of panels / workstations by a single signaller as could lead to operational irregular working, which in turn could lead to an incident or serious accident.
