The module covers the following incident types:

• Freight trains carrying dangerous goods by rail;

• Environmental;

• Mass protests or demonstrations;

• Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA);

• Co-ordinated Terrorist Attacks;

• Pan-London incident; and

• Workforce fatalities.

The module is relevant to all those who perform any of the roles within the incident management framework for the above incidents.

Purpose

This module outlines incidents that require specific response action(s) for specific incident types. Unless stated in the sections of this module, these actions are addition to or support the incident management framework set out in NR/L2/OPS/250 and subsequent modules.

The module reduces the risk that specific incidents might pose to the rail industry.

The module provides the information required for Network Rail to meet its legislative requirements when managing incidents and emergencies.
