scope:
This standard applies to all individual electrical power supplies at or downstream of the LV AC or DC Delivery Point.
Power supply arrangements shall be brought into compliance with this standard as new works are undertaken.
Note: For the Performance specification requirements of upstream power supplies designers must refer to LU standard S1105 'Power Service Contract -Performance Specification'.
This standard applies to all internal and external designers and suppliers when providing new LV systems or updating existing LV systems.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to define the characteristics and performance of Low Voltage (LV) AC and DC electrical power supplies for railway operational purposes, including aspects of reliability and maintainability.
The characteristics and criteria provided are intended to be utilised by electrical distribution designers and equipment specifiers preparing project works which interface with LU low voltage supplies.
Electrical distribution designers and engineers specifying equipment shall consider the nature of downstream circuits and the effects that connected loads have on power supply characteristics.
