scope:
This NTA provides requirements for an asset-related safety, quality, and capacity management system in order to prevent nonconformities, failures and incidents. If they do occur, it provides requirements for controlling their consequences. In addition, the requirements are presented to assure the safety, quality and capacity of the transmission and the distribution of electricity and gas during all phases of the lifecycle of electricity and gas grids.
This NTA applies to the management of grids for transmission and distribution of electricity and/or gas by grid operators.
NOTE 1 NEN 3655 contains additional requirements for a risk management system in order to prevent incidents involving a hazardous substance or a substance under high pressure while operating, and when discontinuing the operation of, pipelines, and for controlling the associated consequences.
NOTE 2 NTA 8620 contains additional requirements for a safety management system for preventing major accidents involving one or several hazardous substances and for controlling the consequences thereof.
NOTE 3 NEN-EN 15399 and NEN-EN 16348 contain additional requirements for operational safety management systems for gas grids and, respectively, gas distribution pipelines.
