This specification applies to new ancillary wiring at traction substations, track paralleling huts, feeder stations, track sectioning cabins/locations and similar equipment locations.
Where necessary, the requirements for wiring WITHIN an item of electrical distribution equipment will be specified in the procurement specification.
The document is to be read in conjunction with the relevant procurement specification.
Appendix D applies to fibre optic and ethernet connections only.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to state the requirements for the design, manufacture, installation and testing of ancillary wiring BETWEEN main items of electrical distribution equipment (including SCADA outstation equipment and substation data cables on AC and DC Electrified Lines).
