This standard contains minimum requirements for the design, installation, approval, and maintenance of totalflooding and local-application fire-extinguishing systems that use one of the gaseous agents in Table 1.1.1.
The scope of this standard does not include fireextinguishing systems that use carbon dioxide or water as the primary extinguishing media, which are addressed by other NFPA documents.
Purpose.
This standard is prepared for use by and guidance of those charged with purchasing, designing, installing, testing, inspecting, approving, listing, operating, and maintaining engineered or pre-engineered clean agent extinguishing systems.
