scope:

This Standard defines the requirements for the completion and authorisation of a Flight Authorisation Certificate (FAC) or Engine Ground Running Certificate (EGRC). The Standard only applies when DEFCON 638 is included in a contract.

This Standard is applicable to new build UK military registered aircraft not delivered to the Authority (off contract), and military registered aircraft that are allotted or allocated to the Contractor for contracted work.

This Standard is applicable to, all aircraft as defined in DEFCON 638 and includes Remotely Piloted Air Systems (RPAS) operating in the Specific S2 sub-category and above as defined in Regulatory Article (RA) 1600; where DEFCON 638 includes RPAS or where a contract has established bespoke indemnity arrangement with HM Treasury.
