scope:

a) This Defence Standard relates to the requirements for the procurement and supply, to Naval Stores, of Aluminium Alloy Tubes for use in HM Ships and Submarines.

b) The tubes defined by this Defence Standard are not suitable for use as guardrail tubes.

c) The NATO Stock Number Items 9535-99-738-5872 and 9535-99-738-5873 may be manufactured by the Bridge/Porthole technique, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are they to be used or considered for fluid transfer.

Note: This Defence Standard has been written and is to be used taking into account the policy stipulated in DSA02-DMR.
