scope:
This Standard specifies the criteria to be satisfied by the steel plates, wide flats and sections (hereafter referred to as steel products) for which through-thickness reduction of area properties by tensile test is specified, as well as the test conditions by which conformance to the specified criteria is evaluated.
In addition to the requirements in the main body, the supplementary quality requirement given in Annex JA may be applied upon agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
