LUL - G2138

Security guidance for non-customer facing roles within the LU operational environment

active, Most Current
Organization: LUL
Publication Date: 1 January 2022
Status: active
Page Count: 21
scope:

This guidance applies to a wide range of roles including:

a) engineering, technical, project personnel, and maintenance staff employed directly

b) contractors and subcontractors.

c) tenants

d) licensed ambassadors.

The guidance covers situations when personnel are within the operational environment of stations and trains in service or adjacent areas.

A small number of personnel will require additional training in order to directly meet statutory security requirements and this will be covered separately.

The guidance does not apply to cleaning personnel that work on stations and trains, who have their own specific security guidance note (G2143 - Security Guidance for Cleaning staff).

Purpose

This document provides security guidance for those roles that work regularly within the London Underground (LU) operational environment but not in a customer facing operational role. It does however provide guidance for licensed ambassadors.

It also reminds personnel of the general vigilance principles associated with working in an office / work space.

This guidance provides information to enable personnel to:

• Keep themselves safe in an incident

• Enable them to contribute to the wider operational security regime

• Support operational colleagues in an incident if they feel able to.
