This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies requirements for the sterile syringe filter (hereafter referred to as syringe filter), which is used for removal of particulate foreign matters, bacteria and fungi in medicines and which can be used as it is and which is disposable after single use. However, the sizes and species of particulate foreign matters, bacteria and fungi that can be removed differ by the pore size of the syringe filter membrane.
