Purpose:
In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5106.01 and the guidance in Sections 12592 and 40702(a)(1)(A) of Title 34, United States Code (U.S.C.), and Part 28.12(b) of Title 28, Code of Federal Regulations, this issuance establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for DNA sample collection and submission requirements for the purpose of inclusion in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).
