scope:
These standards cover the sanitary aspects of air driven sonic horns that dislodge particulates, enhance atomization, augment fluidization or are used in other ways to enhance the drying and/or recovery of dry products. Sonic horns shall begin at the downstream face of the filter element located at the compressed air connection of the driver and terminate at the discharge of the acoustic bell.
In order to conform to these 3-A Sanitary Standards, sonic horns shall comply with the following design, material, and fabrication criteria1.
