This Guidance applies to all LU Train Operators.

The response options should only be considered if the Train Operator is certain that a Bladed Weapon incident is actually taking place on board their train.

Purpose

The following guidance has been based upon information developed by Government, British Transport Police (BTP) and the UK rail industry to assist London Underground employees in responding to a "Bladed Weapon" incident on a train.

A "Bladed Weapon" incident is defined as an attack consisting of one or more people using items such as knives, axes or machetes, with the intention of causing mass casualties.
