This document provides an insight into significant SSI program and data problems that have been found on Railtrack's Signalling Infrastructure, together with their effect, their history and how they have been addressed, the exact detail of which is contained in SSI8000 "SSI Applications Manual", the contents of which are detailed in RT/E/S/17002. Guidance on whether any solutions should be applied retrospectively is outside the scope of this document.

Purpose

This Code of Practice has been prepared to summarise significant problems with SSI programs and data that have been found on Railtrack's Signalling Infrastructure to assist Zone Engineers in ensuring further errors are avoided.
