This document provides an insight into significant SS1program and data problems that have been found on Railtrack's Signaling Infrastructure, together with their effect, their history and how they have been addressed, the exact detail of which is contained in SS18000 "SS1Applications Manual", the contents of which are detailed in RT/E/S/17002. Guidance on whether any solutions should be applied retrospectively is outside the scope of this document.

Purpose

This Code of Practice has been prepared to summarise significant problems with SS1 programs and data that have been found on Railtrack's Signaling Infrastructure to assist Zone Engineers in ensuring further errors are avoided.
