scope:
This standard applies to new batteries, chargers, and associated documentation to be installed at Greenwich Power Station for the sole purpose of GTA generator control and starting.
The standard applies to London Underground and London Underground suppliers for the installation of new batteries, chargers, and associated documentation.
Purpose
This standard states the technical requirements for the design, manufacture and testing of 110V Control and 116V Starting batteries, associated chargers, associated equipment, and documentation to be used for providing reliable d.c. power supplies for the control and starting of the Gas Turbine Alternators (GTA) at Greenwich Power Station.
The batteries and chargers are used to provide d.c. power for the operation of GTA generator control and starting current. The electrical loads consist of continuous standing loads on the Control Battery and heavy current pulses on the Starting Battery.
