Scope.

This specification establishes the general requirements for converters that convert electrical power in aircraft from nominal 115 volts root mean square (VRMS) alternating current (AC), 400 Hertz (Hz), AC single-phase (see 6.7.2 and 6.7.3), or 28 volts direct current (VDC) (see 6.7.5) to nominal 5 volts VDC. The converter's intended use is to provide battery charging power to devices using Universal Serial Bus (USB) 5 VDC for battery charging.
