This standard describes the assessment processes for identifying 'high risk' sites in respect of wrong side track circuit failures under leaf fall contamination conditions, and shall be used by Route Directors to enable appropriate action to be taken in accordance with GO/RT3208.
The requirements of this standard apply where track circuits are used to detect the presence of trains.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to consistently identify any location which may be classified as a 'high risk' site in respect of being likely to suffer wrong side track circuit failures under leaf fall contamination conditions on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure, and to define a structured process to alter the status of such locations.
