This Network Rail standard covers the security classification of all information in all formats created, received and managed by Network Rail for the purpose of pursuing its business.
It does not cover those information security processes relating to the availability of information in terms of business continuity or disaster recovery.
Purpose
This Network Rail standard specifies how Network Rail's information is classified and managed. It is part of a suite of standards published to support the Document Management Policy and the Records Management Policy.
It is envisaged that the processes specified in this document will be used to guide the design of IT systems supporting Network Rail's business processes.
