This specification describes the requirements for a sprayable, waterborne paint that is heat resistant to 260 °C. Typical applications include rear axles, prop shafts, non-braking surfaces of brake components and integral steering gears. The coating is suitable for spray application at room temperature (22 °C) over steel, cast iron, cast aluminum and forgings.

Two (2) coatings are described:

• Type 1 is the coating that shall apply if the coating type is not defined on the drawing or specification.

• Type 2 is a high-performance coating.

Note: Nothing in this standard supercedes applicable laws and regulations.

Note: In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence.

Waterborne paint for chassis spray applications. Type 1 and Type 2 coatings are described/details in the following content.
