scope:

This Specification is applicable to all electric points heating installations whether they be on non electrified tracks, 25 kV electrified tracks, 3rd rail D.C. electrified tracks or 4th rail D.C. electrified tracks.

The requirements of this Specification apply to the design, manufacture, testing and documentation relating to each of the components making up the Electric Points Heating system.

Purpose

This Specification states the minimum requirements for the components and systems comprising the generic types of electric points heating.

This Specification shall be used in the type approval process for electric points heating systems and the component parts comprising the systems.

This Specification is to be read in conjunction with RT/E/C/45002, Code of Practice for the Installation of Electric Points Heating.
