scope:

This Specification is applicable to all electric points heating installations on non-electrified, 25kV AC overhead electrified, 1500V DC overhead electrified, 3rd rail DC electrified and 4th rail DC electrified lines, and in close proximity to 750V DC overhead electrified lines.

The requirements of this Specification apply to the design, manufacture, testing and documentation relating to each of the major components, which constitute the Electric Point Heating system.

Purpose

This Specification states the minimum requirements for the components and systems comprising the electric point heating installations for use on Railtrack infrastructure.

This Specification is to be read in conjunction with RT/E/C/45002, Code of Practice for the Installation of Electric Points Heating, and RT/LS/P/029 Product Acceptance.
