Purpose.
To establish policies, procedures, and responsibilities for the assignment and performance of medical readiness support via medical cognizance (MEDCOG) and liaison functions for Department of the Navy (DON) Service members, Active Component (AC) and Reserve Component (RC), who require support from Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Commands (NAVMEDREADTRNCMD), either when they do not have an organic medical provider or when additional support is needed.
