scope:

This procedure covers all permissive platform signalled moves including those defined as follows:

• for contingency arrangements

• attaching and detaching to/from passenger trains (including where one

• portion is ECS)

• platform sharing

This procedure does not cover the following:

• permissive non passenger train movements

• attaching/detaching to/from ECS trains (shunting with the authority of a ground position signal)

• terminal stations

• locomotives either changing ends or being changed

Purpose

To define the requirements to control the risk of train collisions when signalled in accordance with the permissive working arrangements.
