This specification is mandatory for Network Rail staff and Network Rail contractors who carry out work on Network Rail's infrastructure where an H&S File is a requirement under the CDM Regulations.

In relation to the supply of asset data for infrastructure assets, refer to NR/SP/INF/02020, MINCOM Information Management System (MIMS) for Network Rail Work Management, and NR/SP/BUS/02250, Asset Data Management.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to specify the records management requirements for the management of Health and Safety (H&S) files. It is intended that this specification is compliant with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994. This procedure specifies or refers to published records management processes for:

• the delivery of Health and Safety File (H&S Files) to the Record Centre.

• the structure for H&S Files.

• the H&S Files are available when requested.

• the update of H&S Files.
