This issue of the Specification applies only to Redifon MEL TPWS equipment, compliant to RT/E/S/10134, required to be fitted to signals. It does not include the requirements for TPWS Transmitter Loops at Other Locations (as defined in the Railway Safety Regulations 1999) which will be covered in a later issue.

Purpose

This Specification defines the criteria for the positioning of Train Protection and Warning System (TPWS) transmitter loops and determination of the need for Overspeed Sensor Systems.
