The method is suitable for evaluating the efficacy of preservative formulations to protect non-durable timber from decay when used in above ground exterior applications. Its primary application is for testing systems for UC3A applications such as exterior joinery (protected by conventional finishing systems), but is also applicable for testing UC3B uncoated applications.
