This specification applies throughout Network Rail and to contractors and suppliers working on Network Rail infrastructure.
It does not apply to emergency services personnel, British Transport Police, Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate, Rail Accident Investigation Branch, or to employees or contractors of transport undertakings (other than those working on contract to Network Rail).
Purpose
This is a system specification to define the minimum standards and requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) and workwear to be worn when working on Network Rail infrastructure.
