scope:

This specification relates to:

a) Sleepers, bearers and cable management sleepers for use in ballasted track in Open and Sub-surface locations.

b) Sleepers, bearers and pitblocks for use in concrete track within deep tube locations.

c) Longitudinal bearers for use in bridge structures.

This technical specification applies to LU staff, Transport for London (TfL) engineering staff and all suppliers involved in the design, manufacture or supply of composite sleepers.

Purpose

This technical specification provides performance and assembly requirements for all composite sleepers and bearers that are to be used on the London Underground (LU) network.
