This Procedure applies to all Railtrack Directorates with employees engaged in SCW, and managers responsible for arranging, placing, controlling and monitoring of contracts.

PURPOSE

To control the hours worked by Railtrack employees and Contractors carrying out Safety Critical Work (SCW).

The Procedure defines how Railtrack Line will comply with the requirements of the Railways (Safety Critical Work) Regulations 1994, together with the associated Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and guidance, and with Railway Group Standard GH/RT4004. Whilst additionally this Procedure provides in some cases a resume' of these documents it does not negate the responsibility of Railtrack Line managers to refer to these other documents as necessary.
