This specification applies to Earth Structure assets and all other infrastructure owned by TfL.

This specification defines the requirements for work undertaken on Earth Structure assets and all other TfL Infrastructure, through the following life cycle stages:

a) Construction, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning.

b) Maintenance.

c) Strengthening and renewal.

d) Withdrawal, decommissioning, demolition and disposal.

Purpose

The purpose of this specification is to provide material and workmanship specifications for all works associated with Earth Structure assets and other infrastructure projects within Transport for London (TfL).

Specifically to London Underground (LU), Earth Structures assets comprise the following:

a) Embankments of soil with slopes more than 1.00m high.

b) Cutting slopes of soil and rock (chalk) more than 1.00m high.
