Organization: NR
Publication Date: 1 December 2006
Status: active
Page Count: 10
scope:

This specification applies to all telecommunication equipment owned by Network Rail except equipment provided by the FTN / GSM-R scheme (e.g. Strathclyde) which is subject to a separate performance regime. It does not apply to those "brought in" services obtained from British Telecom etc which are subject to separate Service Level Agreements Also where Network Rail maintains telecoms equipment on behalf of a third party (e.g. Train Operating Company) then this equipment may be subject to a separate service level agreement as denoted by the asset owner.

Purpose

This specification defines the fault priority code and service restoration times which shall be applied, as a minimum requirement, to failures of telecommunication equipment used by Network Rail.

This document now reflects that the prioritising of faults and their restoration to service is now based upon their safety impact and train delay attribution instead of being centred on specific equipment types as denoted previously.
