The present document applies to 5 GHz high performance wireless access systems (WAS) including RLAN equipment which is used in wireless local area networks. Such networks provide high speed data communications in between devices connected to the wireless infrastructure. The present document also applies to ad-hoc networking where these devices communicate directly with each other, without the use of a wireless infrastructure. The present document also describes spectrum access requirements to facilitate spectrum sharing with other equipment. 5 GHz high performance wireless access systems (WAS) including RLAN equipment are further referred to as RLAN equipment in the present document.
