MIL-STD-6020B describes the approved standards/agreements to achieve compatibility and interoperability between command and control and communications systems and equipment of U.S. military forces employed or intended to be employed in joint/combined tactical operations. MIL-STD-6020B specifies the rules, message translation requirements, and data element translations required to exchange data between tactical data systems. Documents that provide planning and common procedures to forces in the joint/combined environment using Tactical Data Links (TDLs) as the basis for information exchange will compliment this publication.
