This procedure applies to Network Rail maintenance staff who undertake signalling corrective maintenance, review, authorise escalation, and sign off of signalling wrong side failures.

For corrective maintenance to Right Side Failures, the process in NR/PRC/MTC/SG0054 should be followed.

For corrective maintenance to Right on Arrival and Repeat Failures, the process in NR/PRC/MTC/SG0139 should be followed.

Individual role/position responsibilities for this procedure are detailed in the RACI (section 5).

Purpose

This document details the process to ensure that the investigation, escalation, rectification, and recording of signalling wrong side failures is undertaken by maintenance according to Network Rail company specifications NR/SP/SIG/10047 and NR/SP/SIG/11231.
