The use of the welding tents shall be considered for every weld location on Network Rail owned infrastructure and implemented wherever protection against the elements is required to enable the successful implementation of a weld.

This Business Process Document has been produced to define how welding tents are to be erected and taken down at welding sites. There are two makes of welding tents with Product Acceptance Certificates. The "Sheerspeed" and "Fusion" Tents are covered by this document and share a common Network Rail Work Activity Risk Assessment; GA76.

With effect from the implementation date of this document, only equipment and processes identified herein may be used on Network Rail Controlled infrastructure

Purpose

The equipment and processes described in this Business Process Document are to be used by Network Rail and Contractors welding staff for the protection from the weather of staff, materials and worksites whilst installing aluminothermic welds.
