This instruction applies to all persons engaged in the maintenance and testing of Whiteley PETS concentrators.
The maintenance requirements for the Power Plant and Batteries used to support Electro-mechanical concentrators is detailed in NR/WI/TEL/30081.
Purpose
This instruction defines the maintenance requirements for Whiteley telephone concentrators used as Public Emergency Telephone Systems at road/rail crossings on Network Rail infrastructure.
The purpose of maintaining and testing Whiteley PETS concentrators is to decrease the incidence of failures through deterioration and to identify potential failures before they become service affecting.
