scope:
This Standard specifies the urethral catheters, with or without balloon, which are used for urethral catheterization, pressure hemostasis and/or cleaning of bladder, etc. (hereafter referred to as "catheters"). This Standard also applies to unsterilized products.
However, this Standard does not apply to nephrostomy catheters and cystostomy catheters to be placed through a stoma.
Moreover, JIS T 3214 : 2005 may be applied until July 28th, 2014.
