Purpose

The purpose of this Specification is to specify the minimum requirements for materials and components taken out of existing track to enable them to be re-used in track at another location.

This specification does not refer specifically to every material item used in track construction but establishes principles for determining re-use, the calculations required and reference to the appropriate standards. These principles may also apply to material items not listed.
