This standard applies to all signalling equipment and associated wiring provided for the control of train movements, from the point of entry into the room to the point of exit.

This standard does not cover maintenance of software or any communications equipment such as signal, tunnel telephones and radio that may be present within the signalling control room.

Maintenance of a power supply within a Signalling Control Room is covered by standard E7157.

The primary user of this standard shall be the Asset Steward.

This standard supersedes E7165 A3, which is withdrawn.

Purpose

This standard defines the minimum maintenance requirements for signalling control rooms and associated computer rooms.
