This Standard specifies single use puncture needles (hereafter referred to as "puncture needles"), used as devices supporting for passing electromagnetic wave, infusing drug solution, draining the fluid and inserting catheter and guide wire, etc., which are capable of puncturing the human body through the skin to abdominal cavity and internal organs in order to perform the examination, treatment and diagnosis.
Moreover, JIS T 3229 : 2005 may be applied until July 28th, 2014.
