This standard is not exhaustive, and does not address all environmental characteristics, which shall be detailed within particular specifications which comprise subjects such as contaminants (including oil, weedkiller and acids), ultraviolet stability and mould growth.

This standard does not define fire safety requirements.

The extent and nature of functional or performance testing, where not stipulated within this document or the definitive specification, shall be formally agreed between the Professional Head of Signalling and the contractor.

This document replaces E7202 A2, which is withdrawn.

Purpose

This standard stipulates the minimum environmental performance requirements for materials and equipment used for signalling, communications and associated control systems, at all locations within the Underground system.
