This standard states the general environmental requirements for signalling equipment, but is not exhaustive. Where necessary, the Particular Specifications for equipment and systems shall state any additional requirementsts, such as resistance to contaminants (including oil, weedkiller and acids), ultraviolet stability and mould growth.

The extent and nature of functional or performance testing, where not stipulated within this Standard or the definitive specification, shall be formally agreed between the Head of Signalling Engineering and the Supplier.

This document replaces E7202 A2 and TLL-ENG-2264-A1, which are withdrawn.

Purpose 

This standard stipulates the minimum environmental performance requirements for materials and equipment used for signalling, communications and associated control systems, at all locations within the Underground system.
